With confidence in supply quality, our client needed to be sure that the quality of flower bouquets remained high while on display in store. They were also needed to understand the degree to which their company wide standard display diagrams for flowers were being observed by all stores.
FSL have devised an inspection programme, visiting stores nationally to carry out quality inspections on flower bouquets in-store, assessing the quality of the flowers against the purchase specifications. While in-store our inspectors are also assessing the merchandising of flowers, comparing the layout to plans provided by the client, checking for out of stock items, and inspecting the labelling to be sure the correct labels are on display.
The client has now developed a clear picture of flower quality on display in their stores, and are able to pick up on any quality issues that arise through the year as new seasonal products and bouquets are supplied. That information allows them to drive improvements in quality.
Those stores where merchandising displays are not followed correctly have been identified independently through the inspection results. This allows our client to identify training needs, and to put additional resources and guidelines in place to improve the way in which flowers are presented to the customer.
With all data and reporting available online in multiple formats, the client is now able to report on flower quality and merchandising throughout the business to any department with an interest in the product.
